Midland Fresh is a family-owned and operated wholesale supplier of fresh fruit and vegetables, with a proud history spanning 45 years in the industry.
Their story began in 1980, when founder Steve and his late wife, Heather, opened their first fruit shop. The two worked tirelessly to build a successful family business, going on to open several more fruit shops across Lancefield, Romsey and Riddells Creek, as well as nurseries, and even a video shop!
In 2003, Steve, Heather, and their three children, Lauren, Michael and Shaun, relocated to Mulwala, where they began a new chapter. Together, Steve and Heather opened another fruit shop in Mulwala and started rebuilding their customer base from the ground up.
After Heather’s passing in 2008, Steve continued to grow the business with the support of his children. In the years that followed, he opened a second store in Yarrawonga, and Midland Fresh steadily grew into a trusted local name. Today, it remains a true family operation, built on hard work, resilience, and a deep connection to the local community.
Steve’s youngest son, Shaun, began working in the business as a teenager and is now a partner in the company. His daughter Lauren also plays a key role, managing the office and administration.
Together, the family, alongside a dedicated team, have grown Midland Fresh into a thriving wholesale operation, servicing a wide range of local businesses and organisations across the district.
Midland Fresh supplies not only the freshest fruit and vegetables, but also pre-cut vegetables, fresh juice, eggs, dry goods, frozen products, and flowers to a diverse clientele including Sporting Clubs, Restaurants, Cafes, Bakeries, Hotels, Hospitals, Aged Care facilities, Childcare Centers and Butchers.
